A string quartet Battle of the Bands!  Two great ensembles, one established and one emerging, share an informal evening of music written by composers they have each worked with personally.  The American String Quartet has been a dedicated champion of contemporary music for its entire 37-year history, and the exciting young Aeolus Quartet recently released the CD Many-Sided Music featuring an eclectic range of new music, much of it inspired by American folk music traditions. Quartet members will share their insights and enthusiasim for the music they have 'birthed' and championed, discussing and playing excerpts from several pieces.

The Music Box will be arranged for cabaret seating, allowing for an informal, more intimate setting. A cash bar and refreshments will be available.
